1.1 When can I start pregnancy yoga?
You can begin with yoga classes from the first trimester (3-months you’re your pregnancy. But I advise to start no later than 16 weeks before your due date, otherwise, you will not fully benefit during childbirth.
1.2 What are the benefits of pregnancy yoga?
During pregnancy your body changes due to hormonal changes and the growth of your child, affecting you physically and mentally. Pregnancy Yoga can help you to find a new balance and to better understand your body and the needs of your baby.
1.3 What kind of exercises can I expect?
There are a range of movement exercises aimed at developing flexible but strong muscles for endurance and good posture. The conscious experience of tension and relaxation also plays an important role, so we will learn how to breathe correctly. Developing breathing techniques will help you to prepare mentally and physically for giving birth.
1.4 Do I need experience with yoga?
No previous experience of yoga is necessary and you are encouraged to exercise at your own pace.
1.5 What do I need to bring to the class?
A large towel, a pillow and comfortable clothing such as sweatpants.
1.6 Can I bring my partner or birthing partner to class?
During the course of 12 lessons, every sixth lesson is a partner class.
1.7 What are the benefits of pregnancy yoga for my partner?
I provide practical information to your partner, so they can support you during childbirth. For example, helping you to remember the breathing techniques and also, how to use pressure points and massage techniques during the labour.
